Print UPI QR codes that stay readable

Use the supplied print layout

The sheet targets A4 paper with two payment cards per row where space allows. Cards avoid splitting across pages. Before printing a large set, review the browser’s preview for the selected paper size and printer margins.

For a clean sheet, turn off the browser’s own page headers and footers if they are enabled. A browser may add the URL and date independently of the website’s print styles.

Keep the code intact

• Use dark modules on a plain white background.
• Preserve the blank margin around all four sides.
• Avoid stretching the image into a rectangle.
• Keep folds, stickers and decorative marks away from the pattern.
• Test the final printed size with the device that will scan it.

QR Bench draws each module on an integer pixel grid and includes a four-module quiet zone. PNGs are generated at roughly 1,000 pixels or more per side, depending on the encoded data. They contain the QR itself; the print sheet adds the human-readable labels.

A useful handoff check

Check the payee, UPI ID, amount and payment number on each card. Scan one printed card under normal lighting and inspect the payment screen before authorizing. Long notes create denser patterns, so shorten unnecessary wording if the final print is difficult to scan.

Downloaded copies remain sensitive

The QR payload includes the entered payment details. A PNG may remain in your downloads folder, and a print job may remain in a shared printer queue. Handle those copies according to the context in which you are collecting payments.

Printing does not create expiry, confirmation or one-time use. A printed code can be scanned again. Keep your own collection records and verify bank receipts.
